“Happiness cannot be found through effort & great
willpower, but is already there in relaxation & letting go”
(Gendun
Rinpoche)
“Touching Stillness” is a non-intrusive way, allowing for space & lightness. By not forcing ourselves into a preferred direction we yield to the moment, stay grounded & approach any activity with ease, clarity & strength, making this practice a healing force for the well-being of oneself & others. The application of Mindfulness & Tai Ji enables us to see the workings of the mind. Through non-judgemental observation of it’s activities & with an attitude of Loving Kindness, we calm the mind & body. From that place of peace & friendliness we then gain insight & wisdom, leading us towards a more balanced & fulfilling way of life.
“Observe the wonders as they occur around you. Don’t
claim them. Feel the artistry moving through, and be silent” - Rumi
In “letting go” of the cherishing of our likes & dislikes,
space opens & we enter a new world of vast potential.
Within our whirlpool of activities, within the eye of
the storm, we connect with the still point of
“true knowing”, not swayed by busyness
or by having to prove anything.
Ad Brugman has been practicing Tai Ji & mindfulness meditation since
1975.
In “Touching Stillness” these practices are coming together in a
unique blend, as evolved over more than 25 years of teaching in the UK and abroad.
His deepest gratitude goes to his teachers who have given so generously
from their treasure of wisdom & compassion:
John Garrie Roshi, Ven.
Namgyal Rinpoche, Chungliang Al Huang & Suprapto Suryodarmo.
